Trinity Giving Fund · half of every gift
Emergency Medication & Copay Relief
A prescription nobody can afford to fill is the cheapest emergency to prevent and the most expensive one to ignore. This grant pays the last few dollars standing between a Haywood County neighbor and medicine a doctor already told them to take.
Run by Evergreen Patient Advocates
Evergreen Patient Advocates coordinates medication support for Trinity Giving County. It pairs operational pharmacy experience — 340B contracts, FQHC eligibility, retail stocking and prior-authorization bottlenecks — with clinical judgment from a practicing physician assistant. That combination is why a dollar routed through this fund goes further than a dollar handed to a pharmacy counter cold.
Pharmacy operations
Knows which counter stocks it, what it truly costs, and how to get it today.
Clinical review
A PA triages urgency, so refills that cannot safely lapse move first.
Paid to the pharmacy
Funds go to the dispensing pharmacy or clinic, never as cash, and land in the public ledger.
How a dollar gets stretched
Grant money is the last resort, not the first. Every request walks this ladder.
Step 1
Sliding-scale clinic & 340B pricing
If the neighbor can be seen at an FQHC, that clinic's 340B contract pharmacy often fills the same prescription for a few dollars. We check this first, every time.
Step 2
Manufacturer patient assistance
Insulin, inhalers, and specialty drugs almost always have a free or reduced program. The paperwork is the barrier — we fill it out with the patient, not for them to figure out alone.
Step 3
Discount cards & pharmacy shopping
Cash price for the same script can swing 400% between two pharmacies a mile apart. We call ahead and pick the cheapest counter that actually has it in stock.
Step 4
Grant dollars close the gap
Whatever is still owed after the three steps above is what the Trinity Giving Fund pays — often under $30 for a prescription that would otherwise go unfilled.
